Continue reading if you want to see how I made these projects & the supply lists:

~ Tree Ornament ~

Supplies Needed:
A Clear Glass Ball Ornament (mine is from Micheal's)
Snowhaven Paper Packet
Quilling tool or Tweezers
Black Striped Twill Ribbon
Neutral Metallic Baker's Twine
Tag ~ Lagoon Cardstock
Hostess Reward Be Jolly Stamp Set
Glitter Gems
Cricut Artiste Cartridge for Tag
Black Ink

Start with Paper of your choice ~ I used a Snowhaven
~ cut paper into strips of 1/2" x 4"  then curled with the my quilling tool.
Remove the cap carefully from the glass ornament (I place the ball in a small custard dish so it does not roll away)
Place curled paper into the ball ornament

The tag was cut from Lagoon card Stock using the Artiste Cartridge.  I then inked the edges with Lagoon ink & the sentiment is from Be Jolly Hostess Rewards Stamp set stamped with Black ink.

I used black metallic bakers twine to tie the tag onto the ornament & as a hanger and then added a piece of Black Striped Twill Ribbon.

I also added some bling to the tag using Glitter Gems.

~ Christmas Card Holder ~

Supplies Needed:
Wooden Spring Clothes Pin (hardware Store)
Snowhaven Paper Packet
Broad Tip Glue Pen
Red Shimmer Trim
Glitter Gems
Metallic Bakers Twine ~ Black

I started by cutting Stripes of paper the with of my clothes pin.  These were glued onto 5 pins.  I used red Shimmer trim for the other 5 pins.
I used sandpaper once the glue had dried to sand the edges of any overhanging paper. I added a Glitter Gem to each of the papered pins.

I then took a length of black baker's twine (approx 6 feet or length of your choice) and tied it into the spring of the clothes pin, tying a knot for each so the pins do not slide together.

I used my Bone folder as a spacer while tying the Twine.

~ Christmas Wall Art ~

Supplies Used:
Shadow Box Photo Frame (dollar Store)
Colorful Ornaments (dollar Store)
Paper Packet
Pear Card Stock
Glue Stick
Ultra Fine shimmery Glitter (had on hand)
Cricut artiste Cartridge for Words

Take the frame apart & cut a piece of Pattern Paper for the inside to replace the Photo
(I used a bit of tape to keep this from moving)

Add the Glittery Ornaments & put the frame back together.

Cut from the Artiste Cartridge the sentiment of your choice from Card stock that coordinates with your background paper.  Add glue to the front of the sentiment & sprinkle with fine glitter. Let dry, then shake excess glitter back into container. I used my tape runner to apply the words to the front of the glass

See you soon ~ Keep warm &
Keep on playing with Paper

Missing in Action

Hi All

This is rather personal & not Scrap booking or card related so if you want to skip this post, please do ~ I just feel I need to share a very important part of my life ~ as my Mother shared my love of paper crafting (and other creative mediums) & we traveled to many event together...

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in May, she had a Mastectomy in July ~ all went really well with NO pain at all!  At her follow up appointment we found out it had spread throughout her entire body to many of her organs (liver, lungs, kidney, bones & scalp).  I have been spending much time with her & dad, driving to appointments, taking care of the house, preparing meals doing the laundry etc... and then she took a turn for the worse the middle of October.  Thinking it was a stroke, she was rushed to hospital... and was admitted.  Mom did not want to be alone so we promised her she would not be alone... dad is not able to stay with her, it is hard on him physically so I stayed with her... we all stayed with her ~ rotating over night stays with my eldest daughter & my sister,  The next couple of days were difficult for us all ~ we found out that she actually did not have a stroke that day she was brought in ~ it was a seizure caused from a previous small stroke that she did not even know she had.  She experienced 2 more seizures while in hospital under the watchful eye of the head Neurologist for the Study of medicine at Kingston General Hospital & Queens University. She got worse, not able to eat & would cough if just drinking water. she slept a lot under the medication they had given her for her lungs & another to prevent further Seizures.
She was transferred to Palliative care on her Birthday & we celebrated her 75th Birthday there with about 25 people coming in & out throughout the day... she was not awake for it as her meds made her sleep a lot but we know she knew we were there & that we all love her very much!
We were blessed with her making it through that day and the next as out of town family were coming to visit with her...in the wee hours of October 26th, mom slipped away in her sleep to be with the Lord.

I will really miss her.
